The following sewer pipeline, manhole, and lift station rehabilitation are scheduled. Detailed construction and schedule information on each project is provided below:
- Price Road: Loop 202 Santan Fwy to Queen Creek Road
- Price Road: Frye Road to Elliot Road
- Chandler Boulevard and 56th Street: 56th Street from Frye to Pecos
- Chandler Lift Stations Rehabilitation
The City of Chandler has contracted with B&F Contracting to rehabilitate the sewer pipeline in Price Road, from just south of the Loop 202 Santan Fwy to Queen Creek Road, and then further south slightly to the Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility (OWRF) at the southwest corner of Price Rd and Queen Creek Rd. The “trenchless” technology of lining the sewer pipeline extends the life of the sewer pipeline and is less impactful and of shorter duration than removal and replacement.
Bypass Installation Continues in Price Road: Crews are currently installing a sewer bypass to bypass wastewater flows from the existing sewer pipeline to nearby manholes for work to take place in the existing pipeline. The bypass pipe is being buried below the asphalt surface to better accommodate travel during the sewer pipeline rehabilitation process.
To accommodate bypass and lateral line installation, Price Road is reduced to two lanes of travel in each direction during daytime hours and, during night hours traffic is further reduced to one lane of travel in each direction. Left turn restrictions may be in place, as needed, to accommodate the work effort.
Traffic control remains in place 24/7 to protect the work zone until a large enough segment of asphalt can be applied to be able to restore the road to normal travel. This asphalt application is somewhat temporary in nature to accommodate protecting the bypass pipe beneath the road surface, but also permitting travel on the roadway. Late next year, after pipeline rehabilitation is complete, the asphalt and bypass pipes will be removed, and permanent restoration of asphalt will take place.
Work continues to install bypass pipe off the roadway on the west side of Price Road; however, crews are working in in various locations along Price Road to install lateral lines for bypass, and water crossings to accommodate cleaning the pipeline as part of the rehabilitation process.
Scheduled to take place during night hours, from 9 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the next morning, beginning Monday, Nov. 11, crews will trench and install bypass pipe across Queen Creek Road, west of Price Road, moving from the north to the south. Queen Creek Road will remain open for travel during night hours; however, will be reduced to one lane in each direction as this work makes its way across Queen Creek Road. This work will be covered with steel plates during daytime hours to restore the road to normal travel. This work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.
Also scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 11, crews will excavate and construct a manhole south of Queen Creek Road on the west side of Price Road, off the roadway. This work is expected to take about 1-2 weeks to complete.
As a note, the bypass pipe consists of five 18" pipes to be able to efficiently convey wastewater flows out of the existing 66" sewer pipeline for rehabilitation to take place. The bypass is generally installed just below the road surface, with some exceptions, from the Loop 202 to Germann Road, and also across Queen Creek Road. There may be brief restrictions as this work takes place across side streets or driveways. Once put into operation, the bypass will be monitored 24/7 for the sewer rehabilitation process to begin.
Sewer Rehabilitation (Pipe Lining): Scheduled to begin in December 2024, the sewer rehabilitation process will begin. This effort includes stationing equipment at various manhole locations to clean and then insert a lining in the existing sewer pipeline, which is then cured to create a permanent lining within the pipe. In addition, several manholes along the alignment require full replacement.
Work to install the bypass is primarily conducted during night hours, and the lining and curing process will take place during daytime hours. However, once the lining curing process begins, it may run into evening or night hours based on the length of the lining and curing process. Night work may be required for work in Price Road nearest Loop 202 Santan Freeway. As sewer rehabilitation completes in late 2025, the bypass removal and restoration will begin, with project completion scheduled for February 2026.
During construction, roads will remain open for travel with lane reductions and possible turn restrictions in place. Night work may be required for work in Price Road nearest Loop 202 Santan Freeway. (WW2302.401)
ADOT is currently working on a project near this area to widen the Loop 202 Santan Freeway. For more information, visit Loop 202.

The City of Chandler has contracted with B&F Contracting to rehabilitate the sewer pipeline in Price Road, from south of Frye Road to Elliot Road. The “trenchless” technology of lining the sewer pipeline extends the life of the sewer pipeline and is less impactful and of shorter duration than removal and replacement.
Crews have completed installation of the sewer bypass pipe along nearby side streets of Mission Park Road, Coronado Street and Linda Lane and are currently bypassing wastewater flows from the existing sewer pipeline to nearby manholes. The sewer rehabilitation (pipe lining) process is taking place in Price Road. This effort includes stationing equipment at various manhole locations to clean and then insert a lining in the existing sewer pipeline, which is then cured to create a permanent lining within the pipe.
Crews are currently working to clean and rehabilitate manholes in northbound Price Road, from north of Ray Road to south of Elliot Road. To accommodate this work, traffic is shifted away from the work area, maintaining at least one lane on Price Road, north of Ray Road.
Crews have begun the removal of the sewer bypass pipe and restoration of impacted areas. Work to remove the bypass from Ray Road will take place during night hours to minimize the impact to traffic. The bypass should be completely removed by early to mid-October.
Unless noted, roads will remain open for travel during this work with traffic shifted away from the work area, and lane and possible turn restrictions in place, as needed. Work is primarily taking place during daytime hours; however, during the lining curing process, work may run into evening or night hours based on the length of the lining and curing process. Project completion is scheduled for Fall 2024.

The City of Chandler has contracted with MGC Contractors to rehabilitate several wastewater lift stations throughout Chandler to make repairs or upgrades. Work will typically take place on-site at the lift station; however, traffic restrictions may be needed in some instances to accommodate the work activity as many of these sites have limited space available. Work will typically take place during daytime hours, weekdays (excluding major holidays). A map of the planned locations and current tentative schedule is provided.
