Business Registration and License Renewal
In 2018, the City of Chandler passed a new Code Chapter that requires all businesses located in the city to obtain a business registration. This business registration began in 2018 and will help the city maintain a list of all businesses located in Chandler. This will allow the city to continue with verifying tax records and assist with public safety inquiries.
Council approved the $45 annual fee for the business registration.
April 13, 2023, City Council updated Chapter 22, Short-Term Rental License, requiring all short-term rentals located in the city to obtain a license beginning August 1, 2023. Historically, as of November 16, 2020, City Code Chapter 22, required short-term rentals to be registered and operate under certain requirements.
The updated provisions of the City Code Chapter 22 require short-term rental property owners to obtain a license, be subject to a nonrefundable fee of $250, and operate under requirements such as maintaining an available point-of-contact for emergencies or non-emergency complaints, providing written neighbor notification to all surrounding residential properties, conspicuously placing license and contact information in the rental, restricting use for non-residential purposes, and allowing a municipality to suspend or deny the license for repeated violations.
