Chandler's monthly water and wastewater rates remain among the lowest in the Valley
Municipal water and wastewater plants and operations are funded entirely through customer charges and development fees. As system maintenance, energy costs or capital needs change, the Chandler City Council must consider changes in water and/or sewer rates to help maintain service levels along with the financial integrity of the water/wastewater enterprise, which includes debt service coverage and cash reserve policy requirements.
Current Water Rates
The amount customers pay for water is based on a monthly base charge and monthly volume charge. Base charges are the same amount every month, and depend upon the size of the meter installed. Volume charges are year-round. Monthly volume charges are billed per one thousand gallons (kgals).

Residential sewer customers pay a monthly base charge for sewer regardless of the amount of metered water use on the account. Nonresidential sewer customers pay a monthly base and volume charge. Base charges are the same amount every month. Volume charges are billed on each thousand gallons of metered water use.

Non-residential sewer customer classes include Commercial, Commercial Processing & Manufacturing, Medical Institutions, Educational Institutions, and Large Volume Industrial accounts. Outside City customers reside in unincorporated areas of Maricopa County, but within Chandler city limits.
