CHANDLER, Ariz. — The City of Chandler is hosting its final series of public workshops for the community to give feedback on the future of the city’s downtown region. These two workshops will feature a 3D augmented reality immersive experience lab for attendees. This will allow them to experience and interact with received input and proposed designs virtually to see how these changes and future development could impact the downtown region.

These workshops will provide the community the last opportunity to fine-tune the vision before it is finalized.

The November workshops will be held at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, 249 E. Chicago St. Staff will provide a brief overview of the area plan’s update before the immersive lab experience kicks off. The workshops will be held on:

  • Friday, Nov. 15 | 4 - 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 16 | 9 a.m. to noon

As a reminder, this updated Downtown Region Area Plan will combine two existing area plans: the South Arizona Avenue Plan, adopted in 2006 and amended in 2008; and the updated downtown portion of the Chandler Redevelopment Element, adopted in 1995.
