The City of Chandler continues to lead with innovative ways to better serve its customers. It becomes one of the first cities nationwide to implement a free texting service for customers and contractors to schedule construction inspections and receive results via text messaging.
“Most contractors utilize smart phones to conduct business while a project is under construction and, with this new service, customers need only their smart phones for scheduling inspections and obtaining results,” said Derek Horn, director, Chandler’s Development Services Department.
To schedule an inspection, text any of these commands: “schedule, s, or sched” to 844-281-3520, along with 1) the permit number, 2) the inspection code to be scheduled, and 3) the date for the inspection to occur. There must be spaces in between each item.
Customers also may cancel or reschedule requests using the commands: “c, can, cancel, canc, reschedule, resched”, along with the permit number and inspection code with spaces in between. Inspection results requests may be accessed by texting “r, result, results” along with the permit number with spaces in between.

Customers will still have the option to schedule inspections by phone through the Interactive Voice Response system at 480-782-3100, or online at Development Services Permits.
