CHANDLER, Ariz. – The City of Chandler’s newest park officially has a name: Orangetree Park. Located at 2134 N. Bullmoose Drive, this 1.7-acre park is being developed as part of the Honeysuckle Trail residential subdivision, currently under construction.
From Jan. 9-29, Chandler residents participated in a public survey to help choose the park’s name. Among the options considered were Orangetree Park, Colt Meadow Park, Acacia Park, El Alba Park, Naranjo Park, Lidman Park, Grizzly Bear Park, Dobby Park and Honeysuckle Park. The majority of participants voted for Orangetree Park, a name inspired by the original surrounding neighborhood.
At its regular meeting on Feb. 4, the city’s Parks and Recreation Board reviewed the survey results and recommended City Council approve Orangetree Park as the official name. This will be Chandler’s 70th park, adding to the city’s extensive network of recreational spaces.
Orangetree Park is located within the square mile bordered by the Loop 101, Dobson, Elliot and Warner roads. Designed as a developer-built city park, it is part of a new single-family residential subdivision that includes open area tracts for retention and amenities. Construction is underway and is anticipated to be completed in spring 2025.
