CHANDLER, Ariz. –Local aspiring authors can gain valuable insights and personal consultation with published young adult author Amy Fellner Dominy at the Chandler Public Library’s Writer-in-Residence program.

From October through December, Dominy will host one-on-one consultations and group workshops with aspiring authors to help them fine-tune their work. During the consultations, Dominy can review participants’ work, address questions and provide overall expertise on becoming an author. Her workshops include character and dialogue development techniques, guidelines to create successful picture books and how to create strong query letters for publishers.

“We are honored to host Amy Fellner Dominy at the Chandler Public Library,” said Chandler Library Program Manager Jean Reynolds. “Chandler is full of aspiring and published authors, and this program helps build a community of like-minded people who can lean on one another through their author journey.”

The Writer-in-Residence series offers sessions at three Chandler Library branches, including Basha, Downtown and Sunset, now through Dec. 19. For a full schedule of sessions and to register, please visit the Chandler Public Library.

Amy Fellner Dominy is an accomplished author and educator. She has published books for toddlers, tweens and teens. Some of Dominy’s accolades include winning the Arizona Grand Canyon Reader’s Award and the Abilene School District Reader’s Choice Award and being recognized with the ALA Sydney Taylor Notable Award.
