Presiding Judge Alicia Skupin was recognized as a Change Agent by the Chandler Unified School District.
The Arizona City Attorneys Association recognized Kelly Schwab, City Attorney, with its Distinguished Municipal Attorney Award.
Economic Development Director Micah Miranda was a recipient of an alumni award from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management.
DEI Program Manager Niki Tapia was a 2022 Diversity and Inclusion nominee and finalist for Diversity Leader of the Year Award hosted by the Diversity Leadership Alliance.
The Chandler Police Department’s Forensic Services Section was awarded the Foresight Maximus Award as one of the top performing laboratories by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors for the fourth straight year.
The Chandler Fire Department received the American Heart Association (AHA) Mission: Lifeline Silver Award for excellence in treating time-sensitive cardiac diseases such as heart attack or stroke. The Chandler Elks Club also recognized Avery Armstrong with the Public Safety award.
The Neighborhood Resources Division received numerous recognitions including:
- The Envision program received a 3rd place award from Neighborhoods USA
- The Alley Maintenance program was recognized as an award finalist from Neighborhoods USA
- The Neighborhood Resources Department received the Community Services Award from the Chandler Men of Action
- The City once again earned a High Performing Public Housing Authority designation by HUD
- The redevelopment of Chandler’s public housing was selected for an ASU Master of Real Estate Development Synthesis Project
A for Arizona - Chandler Flex, an on-demand, shared transportation service, was chosen as an exemplary grantee to showcase for future transportation projects. The goal of Chandler Flex is to use technology to expand access to convenient, affordable, and sustainable transportation for residents and visitors to the City of Chandler.
“The City of Chandler is proving itself to be a leader in providing reliable, convenient and safe transit options,” said Mayor Kevin Hartke. “We are excited to be able to offer Chandler Flex ride share, providing transportation options for Chandler residents, students, workers and visitors.”
The National League of Cities awarded the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Office with a Cultural Diversity Award in recognition of Chandler Contigo, a month-long program of educational events and cultural activities for all ages that honor and celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Chandler Municipal Court was awarded Best Customer Service in October and November for their recently implemented Live Help Now Online Chat service.
The West Chandler monument signs spearheaded by the Economic Development Division were recognized as the Arizona Sign Association’s 2021 Monument Sign of the Year.
