The city's 70th and newest park now has a name: Orangetree Park. Located within the square mile bordered by the Loop 101, Dobson, Elliot and Warner roads, this 1.7-acre park is being developed as part of the Honeysuckle Trail residential subdivision, currently under construction.
From Jan. 9-29, Chandler residents participated in a public survey to help choose the park’s name and the majority of participants voted for Orangetree Park, a name inspired by the original surrounding neighborhood. At its regular meeting on Feb. 4, the city’s Parks and Recreation Board reviewed the survey results and recommended City Council approve Orangetree Park as the official name.
Designed as a developer-built city park, it is part of a new single-family residential subdivision that includes open area tracts for retention and amenities.
