The safety of Chandler residents is a high priority of mine. In order to be responsive to the needs of the community, the Fire Department needs to have the most effective equipment available. That is why I have brought a budget amendment for $10,000 to purchase specialty tools for the Chandler Fire Department. These valuable tools will provide all of the necessary equipment for firefighters to accurately set and manage water flow and pressure when using standpipes. Each response apparatus will be equipped with these kits, which contain an in-line pressure gauge, a gate valve and a drain elbow.

I want our residents and visitors to feel secure and be confident in the knowledge that should an emergency arise, the fire department will be ready to respond with the most state-of-the-art equipment designed to ensure the safety of residents and the preservation of property. These tools will be purchased and fully implemented by the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2019-2020.
