Chihuahuas Crowned at Chandler’s Cinco de Mayo event
CHANDLER, Ariz. – The King and Queen Chihuahuas of 2010 were crowned last weekend as part of the Cinco de Mayo Celebration and Chihuahua Races. The annual festivities were produced by the Si Se Puede Foundation and hosted by the City of Chandler.
The 2010 Chihuahua King is "Freddie," owned by Debra Arthur, and the Chihuahua Queen was "Princess," owned by Linda Moon.
More than 80 Chihuahuas competed in the 13th Annual Chihuahua races. The first place race winner was "Cherry," owned by Mayra Jordan, "Mickey D,” owned by Cheryl Rhumer, came in second place, and in third place was "Bianca," owned by Stacie Romney.
The Cinco de Mayo Celebration honors the Hispanic community's many contributions to the City of Chandler. Annual event highlights include authentic Mexican dancing, music, a health fair, a classic car show and the famous Chihuahua Races.
