Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities

The nine members assist and advise the City Council and staff on essential policies, rules and regulations relating to advocacy issues experienced by the disabled of the community, such as accessibility, education and employment. 

Meetings usually held the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

Mission Statement:
The Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities was established in January of 1990 to serve as a liaison between citizens of Chandler who have disabilities, and/or those who serve individuals with disabilities and the City Council for the City of Chandler.  We assist the City Council on policies, rules and regulations relating to issues experienced by the disabled of the community, such as accessibility, education and employment.  We serve as advocates for those in the community with physical and mental disabilities, birth defects, injuries sustained due to accidents, illnesses and age related disabilities.

Requirements: 9 members (3 yr term); 8 members must be qualified electors; residents for 1 yr. preceding appointment. 1 member may be a resident of the local metro area for 1 yr. preceding appointment.
