Chandler Takes Bragging Rights in Food Drive Competition
The City of Chandler takes home bragging rights and the chance to dress the Gilbert Town Council in Chandler T-Shirts as the final tally is in for a food drive competition between the communities. Together, our communities raised 9,598 pounds of food for the hungry with Chandler raising about 2,500 more pounds than Gilbert.

Everyone Wins in Mayor “Bag Off” Competition
The Mayoral Bag Off competition ended in a tie this morning with both Chandler and Gilbert adding 400 pounds of food each to their friendly food drive competition. Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny and Gilbert Mayor John Lewis rolled up their sleeves and bagged up food for the hungry as the communities enter the final week of a Month of May Food Drive competition.

It’s In the Bag – Chandler, Gilbert Mayors Face Off for Food Drive
Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny and Gilbert Mayor John Lewis compete in a ‘Bag Off’ to see who can bag the most groceries in 1 minute. Winner gets to donate the food they bag on behalf of their community, and claim bagging-bragging rights.

State of the City Address on May 24 at the Council Chambers
The Mayor is inviting the community to bring a canned food item to the State of the City Address for donation to the City of Chandler’s Food Drive challenge with Gilbert. Help us feed the hungry, and see the Gilbert Town Council in Chandler’s shirts!

Food Drive Challenge Brings out Chandler, Gilbert Spirit
Gilbert and Chandler are teaming up for a challenge of a giving nature – seeking to collect the largest quantity of donations for local food banks. The goal is to collect the greatest weight of food donations, in a fun contest that pits both residents and employees of the communities in a fun contest that supports our neighbors who need us most.

Mayor Tibshraeny and the City of Chandler entered into a friendly challenge from the Town of Gilbert, as we both raise food for the hungry. The community that donated the most food (by weight) during the month of May sends the losing Mayor & Council T-shirts to wear during an upcoming Council meeting.
