During February of 2012, the City in partnership with the Bashas' Family of Stores held a birthday cake design contest. The bakeries at two Bashas', one AJ's Fine Foods, and one Food City each created a special cake to commemorate our 100th birthday. We posted photos online and customers voted in the stores.
 
The Food City and the Bashas' at Gilbert and Chandler Heights Roads received the most votes. Both cake designs were recreated and served to the public during the Chandler Birthday Celebration on Thursday, May 17, 2012.

Centennial Cake Design Contest (Public)  

The City also held a cake design contest for local bakers and cake designers. Tenay Travis of Edible Creations is our winner of the public cake design contest! Her winning design was  recreated and served at the May 17th birthday Celebration, as well. Good job, Tenay!
