Health Connect ExpoHealth Connect Expo

On Saturday, April 12, 2014, the Tumbleweed Recreation Center hosted Mayor Jay Tibshraeny's Health Connect Expo as part of his wellness initiative.

This free, family-friendly event will feature dozens of health conscious vendors, fitness and cooking demonstrations, speakers, free giveaways and more.

Dr. Garrett was born in Portland, Ore., but spent most of his childhood in Denver, Colo. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at Brigham Young University and attended medical school at the Emory
University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga. He went on to complete his neurosurgical residency at the Barrow Neurological Institute (Barrow) in Phoenix where he received extensive training in skull base neurosurgery and completed fellowships in complex spinal disorders and stereotactic radiosurgery.
Dr. Garrett also spent time in Tanzania, Africa where he was part of a Barrow initiative to train neurosurgeons in developing countries. Dr. Garrett treats patients with complex and simple cranial and spinal disorders, using the latest in surgical techniques and instrumentation, often employing minimally
invasive approaches.

Dr. Jonathan Hodgson is a board-certified neurologist. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hodgson completed his neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hodgson also serves the East Valley as the medical director of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center’s Medical
Center stroke center.

Mayor Jay Tibshraeny is inviting the community to join him in a healthier lifestyle by attending the Health Connect Expo from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 12 at Tumbleweed Recreation Center, 745 E. Germann Rd. The event is free and open to the public.
