On Saturday, April 18, 2015, the Tumbleweed Recreation Center will host Mayor Jay Tibshraeny's Health Connect Expo as part of his wellness initiative.
This free, family-friendly event will feature dozens of health conscious vendors, fitness and cooking demonstrations, speakers, free giveaways and more.

9-9:45 a.m.: Aging and Your Memory
Presented by Jonathan Hodgson, DO
Dr. Jonathan Hodgson is a board-certified neurologist. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hodgson completed his neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. He also serves the East Valley as the medical director of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center’s Medical Center stroke center.
10:30-11:15 a.m.: Hip Fractures and Joint Replacements as Consequence of Falls
Presented by Danton Dungy, MD
Dr. Dungy is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a sub-specialization in adult reconstruction (joint replacement). He has been practicing in the Valley of the Sun for more than 13 years and is the Founder and CEO of The Dungy Orthopedic Center in Chandler, AZ. Dr. Dungy received his B.S. degree in Microbiology at the University of Maryland at College Park during which time he worked as an intern in the Clinical Pathology Department at the National Institutes of Health and performed genetic research at the Johns Hopkins University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois and completed his general surgical internship and orthopedic residency at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
This was followed by a Fellowship at the Harvard University Combined Orthopedic Training program at Massachusetts General Hospital. During his Fellowship, he focused on orthopedic joint replacement and adult reconstruction. With the aid and support of a top notch Physician's Assistant and support staff, his active practice performs over 300 joint replacements surgeries annually.

Chandis Siwek grew up in a little farm town in Idaho. That’s where her love for food and gardening began. In college, her passion for nutrition grew as she studied Nutritional Science at Pepperdine University in Southern California. While at Pepperdine, Chandis became the university’s first Student Chef.
After graduation, Chandis got married to the love of her life, moved to Arizona, and became a Registered Dietitian. Last year, Chandis had the honor of competing in the Top 30 on Fox Network’s MasterChef. Soon after filming the competition show, she joined the team of three other
