Volunteers needed for Chandler’s Make a Difference Day

Volunteers are needed Saturday, Oct. 28, for “For Our City Day Chandler,” which is part of the national Make a Difference Day initiative. On this day, the City of Chandler is partnering with several nonprofits, faith-based organizations, schools, local businesses and individuals to support residents for the seventh annual For Our City Day. Hundreds of volunteers will work together on a variety of home and property improvement projects in the San Tan neighborhood near Gazelle Meadows Park in Chandler.

This year’s event is scheduled from 6:30 to noon Saturday, Oct. 28, at Gazelle Meadows Park, 500 N. Exeter St., Chandler. Check-in will begin at 6 a.m. and volunteers will begin their projects starting at 6:30 a.m. To view the volunteer opportunities and to sign up, visit bit.ly/ForOurCityDay2017.

Projects will include painting home exteriors, landscaping, alley cleanup, painting house numbers on street curbs, serving food and more. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help spread rock in Gazelle Meadows Park, which is being renovated on Saturday, Nov. 4, thanks to a KaBoom!® grant awarded to the City. Large dumpsters also will be available throughout the surrounding neighborhood to dispose of litter and debris.
