Chandler families in need encouraged to attend Operation Back to School Chandler 

Chandler families with students that are in need of school supplies are invited to participate in the fifth annual Operation Back to the School Chandler. The event is scheduled from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Chandler High School, 350 N. Arizona Ave. 

Eligible Chandler K-12 students can receive backpacks filled with supplies, shoes, uniforms, socks and underwear (while supplies last). In addition, families can receive information on free after-school programs, giveaways and prizes during the event.

Families must bring the following to ensure participation at the event:
Previous report card or enrollment form to confirm attendance at Chandler schools or a current utility bill to confirm Chandler residency
Children must be present at the event
Parents and guardians must bring some form of ID

Buses for transportation to the event are available for Title 1 school families. Families must contact their Title 1 Parent/Teacher liaison for details.

Operation Back to School Chandler is organized by: AZCEND, Chandler Unified School District, CARE Center, Fans Across America, CrossRoads Nazarene Church, City of Chandler Neighborhood Resources, ICAN, Boys & Girls Club, EV Jewish Community Center, M.I.L.K., Goodwill, Dignity Health, LDS Church, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Special Devices, Gear-up Promotions, Chandler Service Club, Matthew’s Crossing and For Our City - Chandler.

This event continues to be the largest back-to-school event in the East Valley. Last year, more than 3,000 families attended and 2,500 backpacks were distributed.
