Streets to receive pavement preservative made from recycled tires

A pavement treatment made from recycled tire rubber will be applied to a number of Chandler streets through the end of May 2017 in sections of central, south and west Chandler.

The application of the penetrating sealant known as Tire Rubber Modified Surface Seal (TRMSS) helps extend the life of City streets by preserving pavement oils contained in the asphalt. The work began April 17, 2017, and will take approximately six weeks to complete. Minor maintenance and crack sealing has been performed on the streets in preparation for the TRMSS application.

Maps showing the locations of the TRMSS maintenance projects can be found by clicking on the Road Construction & Street Closures link on the Transportation page of the City’s website, www.chandleraz.gov/transportation.

All streets will remain open to traffic during the work, but lane restrictions will occur. For more information, call 480-782-3500.
