Chandler Jazz Festival hits high note March 31 & April 1
Celebrate all that jazz from local and national talent featuring more than 75 artists

Enjoy a spectacular weekend of great Jazz in a variety of outdoor venues as Chandler hits a high note with the return of the Chandler Jazz Festival, March 31 and April 1.

The two-day downtown festival will feature more than 75 artists and span four City blocks along Arizona Avenue between Boston and Buffalo streets. An impressive lineup of live jazz performances will take the Dr. A.J. Chandler Park Downtown Stage from 5-10 p.m. both days and include a range of genres from traditional and fusion rhythm to smooth jazz. Notable performers include the Royce Murray Jazz Ensemble, Sistahs Too, Smokestack Lightning, Keith McKelley Project, Alex Prince Quintet and Eric Ramsey.

“The annual concert series puts the spotlight on both renowned jazz musicians from across the country and local bands for free, family-friendly performances to kick-off April’s Jazz Appreciation Month,” said Hermelinda Llamas, event coordinator. “The jazz-fueled outdoor festival is a great way for the community to get ready for a melodic month of music.”

Gates open at 4 p.m. and festivalgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the outdoor performances. Each night will culminate with must-see sets on the Superstition Springs Dodge main stage; the acclaimed ‘Piano Prince of New Orleans,’ Davell Crawford, and Bob Fahey and Nice n’ Nasty.

Libations and cuisine will be available for purchase and guests 21 years and older can enjoy the festival’s music-infused beer and wine garden, featuring SanTan Brewing Company craft beers and an array of vintage wines.

In addition to live music on the main stage, music lovers can groove to the sounds of local jazz talents while grabbing a drink and bite at one of the many restaurants in Downtown Chandler, including Bourbon Jacks, El Zocalo and The Ostrich, all within walking distance of each other.

Performances will run simultaneously at participating restaurants beginning in the early evening and continue as late as midnight both nights. On Saturday, local bands take to the sidewalks from 2-4:30 p.m. The complete festival entertainment schedule is available online at www.chandleraz.gov/jazz.

The concert series is a smoke-free event and attendees are prohibited from bringing outside food and beverages, large umbrellas, awning and canopies, animals (service animals allowed) and weapons.

The 18th Annual Chandler Jazz Festival is presented by the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership, Superstition Springs Dodge, Phoenix Blues Society, Nextivia, Steinway Piano Showroom Arizona, Complete Kitchen & Bath Remodel (CKBR), Tribal Waters, Arizona Family Dental, Black Bear Diner, Singing Pandas Asian Restaurant, Lakeshore Music, Wood Partners – San Marcos, Chandler Music and the City of Chandler.
