Let the Chandler Public Library help you with your holiday gift buying

Attention holiday shoppers! The clock is ticking and the Chandler Public Library has a variety of resources to help you find the best, safest, most dependable and sought after gifts for family and friends.

The annual Consumer Reports Holiday Gift Guide is an invaluable and trustworthy resource for quickly researching and evaluating thousands of products that have been tested and rated by Consumer Reports all year long. This Holiday Gift Guide is the key to helping you find the top-rated products that would make the perfect gifts for your loved ones. For 80 years, this independent, nonprofit organization has conducted evidence-based product testing and research on behalf of the public. Consumer Reports is a subscription based service, but if you have a Chandler Library card you can access the online content for free. To access ConsumerReports.org with your library card and PIN, visit chandlerlibrary.org and hover your mouse over the purple Research & Learning tab. Then click A-Z List of Resources, and scroll down to choose ConsumerReports.org.

Books are a great gift, and you can support the Chandler Public Library if you purchase your books through the Chandler Library and Friends Storefront on Amazon.com. The Friends of the Chandler Public Library promote growth of the library’s resources through financial and volunteer support. Their online storefront offers many gently used books, including some “hard to find” editions, that can be shipped within the United States. Visit amazon.com and search for the Chandler Library and Friends in Books.

Music soothes the soul; and it excites everyone when they get great tunes in their stocking Christmas morning. You can use the Library’s free music service, Freegal, to preview the music before you buy it for others or just download it for your own enjoyment. Library card holders can download and keep up to five MP3 songs each week. This month, Librarian Mark Liden is highlighting the Best of the Year albums that are available on Freegal. Check out the year’s top releases in R&B, Soul, Hip/Hop, Alternative, Indie Rock, Dance, Pop, Country, Jazz and more. To access Freegal and the Best of 2016 lists with your library card and PIN, visit chandlerlibrary.org and hover your mouse over the purple Books & More tab and select Music.
