Spotlight to shine on talented teens
Entry deadline Jan. 4

Teens interested in showcasing their talents for cash prizes have until Wednesday, Jan. 4, to enter Chandler’s Teen Talent Competition to be held Friday, Jan. 13, at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave.

Young adults between the ages of 13 and 17 who can sing, dance, rap, play an instrument or have a talent they wish to show the world are encouraged to sign up online at www.chandleraz.gov/registration using code 2YT001 or contact shawn.peoples@chandleraz.gov or call 480-782-2746. Cost is $30 for each performing act.

The talent competition brings out artists that range from vocalists, bands, dancers (individuals and groups) and even magicians.

“Some of the artists compose their own music or dance routines, and the genres stretch across the board,” said Shawn Peoples, a recreation coordinator with the City. “This year, one of our winners from last fall will perform during intermission. She plays the harp and her talents are mind-blowing!"

The first place performance in each category will receive a cash prize. The public is invited to attend and general admission tickets are $5 at the door.
