Mayor Tibshraeny’s Teen Leadership Academy now accepting applications

Calling all Chandler teens! Chandler residents who currently are enrolled in high school or a similar level home-school program are encouraged to apply for Mayor Jay Tibshraeny’s Teen Leadership Academy. During the five-day program, students will meet with elected officials, managers and staff from every City’s department to better understand how Arizona’s fourth largest city is run.

The free academy will run from March 13-17, (Chandler Unified School District’s spring intersession) from approximately 9 a.m. to noon. Students must have transportation to and from City Hall during the duration of the program.

Applications for the program are available online at chandleraz.gov/connect and must be submitted by Friday, Dec. 2. Completed applications may be mailed to: Dave Bigos, Mayor and Council Assistant, Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave., fifth floor, Chandler, AZ 85225. Applications also may be submitted via email to david.bigos@chandleraz.gov

The selection process will occur during the month of December, and the new class will be introduced during the Mayor’s State of the City on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.
For the third year in a row, the academy is being funded in part by the generosity of the Chandler Kiwanis Club.
