Wonder Gardens: The Artworks of Pat Scheurich

Sept. 2 – Oct. 29, 2016
Meet the Artist Reception: Friday, Sept. 9, 7-9 p.m.

The upcoming “Wonder Gardens” exhibit in the Gallery at the Chandler Center for the Arts will feature the flora and fauna inspired artwork of Pat Scheurich, a mixed-media artist for over 30 years.  Receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Pat Scheurich works in multiple mediums and takes inspiration from the everyday as well as the art of other cultures. Pat utilizes glazes, textures, embossed paper, handmade stamps, gilded foils, and found materials to create images that capture the connection between the human experience and the natural world. She currently creates much of her work in her studio in Phoenix, which she calls one of her favorite places.

Wonder Gardens is an exhibit of mixed media paintings using texture, metal foil, and acrylic paint, which shares my love of birds and the natural world. Through the various ‘habitats’ that I have created, which depict birds and their diverse environments, I explore the synergy between art and nature,” says Pat Scheurich

The public is invited to attend the opening Artist Reception on Friday, Sept. 9, from 7-9 the Chandler Center for the Arts and meet the artist, Pat Scheurich, during this free admission event that will kick off the new exhibition.
