An update also will be provided on the community association bills passed in the most recent legislative session.

Additionally, this class will cover the importance of reviewing governing documents for possible amendments needed to insure that the association is in compliance with state and federal laws.

Thursday, Sept. 15: Advanced HOA legal issues
Have you seen a rise in the number of drones in community associations? This class will address the issue of drones before they become a problem. The class also will discuss how to handle violations, levying special assessments and implementing strategic initiatives on your board.

Thursday, Sept. 22: Understanding the key players in HOAs
This class will discuss the rights, responsibilities, roles and rules governing HOA community members, the Board of Directors and the HOA nonprofit corporation. Participants will learn who the “three” key players are in the HOA “game.”

The academy is organized by the City’s Neighborhood Programs Office and held in partnership with The Mulcahy Law Firm and Shaw & Lines, LLC.  Enrollment priority will be given to Chandler residents. Those who complete all four classes will receive a Certificate of Completion.
