The City of Chandler Diversity Office proudly supports and is an official sponsor of this year’s Juneteenth, A Celebration Through Song. The free event will be held on Friday, June 17, at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave. The doors open at 6 p.m. for pre-event activities that include entertainment by musical group C4 and Memphis Best BBQ (available for purchase).

The show will start at 7 p.m. and will feature musical performances by Gospel recording artist Marcia Love, John King, III & the Vessels of Worship, Britahn Newbill, Minister John Reed and the Order of the Levites, Pilgrim Rest Mass Choir and Shavonne Burnett.

"Juneteenth is the oldest African American holiday and commemorates the abolishment of slavery in the United States," said Chandler’s Community Resources & Diversity Manager Leah Powell. "Chandler is proud to support cultural events that showcase our rich diversity."

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the programs of the Chandler Christian Community Center and South Chandler Self-Help Foundation.
