Free landscape and irrigation classes offered
The City’s fall lineup of popular landscaping and irrigation classes once again includes the popular Water Wise Edible Gardening class, along with great information about installing and maintaining residential landscape and irrigation systems and planting colorful water-wise plants.

Classes are free to Chandler utility customers, but participants must pre-register. Information: www.chandleraz.gov/water or call (480) 782-3580.
LOCATION
All classes, with the exception of the first two of four Chandler SMART Landscaping classes, will be held at Chandler City Hall, 2nd Floor Training Rooms, 175 N. Arizona Ave. The first two Chandler SMART Landscaping classes will be held at Chandler’s Environmental Education Center, 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road.
CLASS OFFERINGS
Basic Yard Makeovers,6:30-8:45 p.m., August 28: Easy step-by-step methods to convert turf yards into colorful low water use landscape. Rebates of up to $3,000 available.
Chandler SMART Landscaping, 9 a.m. until noon, September 15 and September 22 at Chandler’s Environmental Education Center, and again September 29 and October 6 at Chandler City Hall: This two-class series teaches the basics of landscaping in the desert. Learn concepts of design, the desert plant palette, plant selection, plant combinations and how to plan for small spaces.
Water Wise Edible Gardening, 6:30 to 8:45 p.m., September 18: Learn how to prepare beds, choose plants and care for vegetables, herbs, fruits and citrus for a bountiful harvest.
Water Smart Workshops: Four classes are offered. Class descriptions are available at www.chandleraz.gov/water. All classes will be held from 6-8:45 p.m.

Pruning and Maintaining Your Landscape, 6:30 until 8:45 p.m. October 30: Trees and shrubs are the most important living elements of a landscape. A certified Arborist discusses proper plant selection, planting, staking and pruning techniques for the low desert. |
