Chandler’s Tumbleweed Recreation Center seeks local vendors for Holiday Expo on December 2
To help usher in the holiday shopping season, the City of Chandler’s Tumbleweed Recreation Center (TRC) will host its inaugural Holiday Expo on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. Local businesses and organizations with holiday-themed food, decorations, gifts, music, arts and crafts are invited to apply for booth space at the event, which is open to the public. The TRC is located at 745 E. Germann Rd.
This festive event will attract eager holiday shoppers who want to support local businesses, which keeps their sales tax dollars in the community. Vendor applications can be downloaded from the TRC Web site at www.chandleraz.gov/tumbleweed (under the “News & Notes” section).
Applications submitted and approved prior to Nov. 10 will pay an "early bird" fee of $20 ($25 after Nov. 10) for an information booth or $35 for a sales/retail booth ($50 after Nov. 10). All vendor applications are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Vendors will be provided with a table and two chairs and can bring their own tablecloths, decorations and signage to display.
During the expo, the TRC courtyard will be decorated and refreshments will be available in the lobby. The TRC’s own “Frosty” mascot will be available for photos with children for a nominal fee. The event also coincides with the TRC’s weekly Wednesday Family Night activity – Bounce, Bike and Boogie – that runs from 5:30-7 p.m. There is a $2 fee ($3 for nonresidents) for youth to participate in the activity, while parents and TRC annual family-pass holders are free.
