Aug. 25, 2009 Chandler Celebrates Hispanic Heritage CHANDLER, Ariz. – Residents are invited to a free celebration of Hispanic Heritage with a night of music, dance and performance from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 in Downtown Chandler’s AJ Chandler Park – west of Arizona Ave. Entertainment will include a free evening performance of Por Amor by James Garcia, a romantic comedy about love, fame, greed and behind-the-scenes treachery in the world of touring theater. In addition, visitors will enjoy Mariachi Music, Opendance and Flamenco del Sol Dancers. The Hispanic Heritage Celebration is produced by Xico, which is located in downtown Chandler and is one of the oldest ethnic nonprofit heritage organizations in the state, whose vision is to promote indigenous arts and culture through community based arts programs. Hispanic Heritage Celebration is presented by The Chandler Republic, and supported by the City of Chandler and the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership.
