Major Power OutagesIn the event that the City of Chandler and surrounding areas experience a major power outage, citizens should be aware of the following information.


CONTACTS:

In extreme emergencies, citizens who are in danger should call 9-1-1.

Call SRP at (602) 236-8888 to report a power outage or to find out when the power in your neighborhood will be restored.

For a listing of social service and relief organizations, contact the Community Information and Referral Service at (602) 263-8856.

What to Do During a Major Power Outage:

  • Turn all power off, so when power is restored, electronic equipment is not damaged by a power surge.
  • If your power is not restored at the same time as the rest of the neighborhood, check your fuse box.
  • Always have candles and flashlights on hand.
  • Go to the city pool or library to stay cool.

In the event of a long-duration outage, SRP may offer free ice to the public

Those with medical questions of a non-emergency nature should be directed to the resident’s private physician or local hospital/health clinic. Social service and relief organization information is available through the Community Information and Referral Service at (602) 263-8856.
